Good For Your Stock Trading- Meditation Helps The Processing Of Information
I read an interesting article on some research done in regards to meditation and thought it had a potentially interesting connection to improving your stock trading. If you’ve read this site, you know that I’m a big proponent of meditation before the start of the trading day. I do not believe it is possible to attract money into your account simply because you meditate, but I always found myself calmer after doing something as easy as taking 10 breaths in and out while focusing at a spot on the wall. While there are plenty of other ways to do meditation, I found this one to be the easiest, which of course means you are likely to do it more often. You may find something like Yoga or hitting the gym is what gets you ready for the trading day.
Research at the University of California Los Angeles discovered that there is actually a physical alteration of the brain cause by meditation and allowing you to possibly process information faster. Here’s part of what the article said:
Long-term meditators have larger amounts of gyrification, or folding of the cortex, than people who do not meditate. Indeed, there was a direct correlation between the amount of gyrification and the number of years spent meditating.

With everything thrown in front of us by the market on a day to day basis, a little meditation may end up going along way. Even if the study isn’t completely right, meditation has been proven to calm the mind and help you relax and relieve stress, benefits that certainly couldn’t hurt.
